Tonight's sleep story flies to Neverland in a gentle adaptation of J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, from 1911. It begins in the Darlings' moonlit nursery, where Peter Pan returns for the shadow he left behind, and Wendy sews it back on with small, careful stitches. With happy thoughts and a sprinkle of Tinker Bell's fairy dust, Wendy, John, and Michael learn to fly, and off they go, second star to the right and straight on till morning. In Neverland they meet the Lost Boys, keep house in their underground home, drift beside the mermaids' lagoon, and face Captain Hook's moonlit ship, until the ticking crocodile settles matters and the children fly safely home. A calm retelling full of wonder, narrated slowly for sleep, with soft ambient music at the open and close.
