Sleep story
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Tonight we drift into Sleepy Hollow, a dreamy valley beside the Hudson River where the air seems full of sleep. There we meet Ichabod Crane, a lanky schoolmaster who loves singing, good suppers, and the pretty Katrina Van Tassel, and who must contend with the hearty Brom Bones. At the Van Tassel harvest supper, the old folks tell tales of the Headless Horseman by the fire, and Ichabod rides home alone past the lonely bridge over the brook. What follows is the valley's most famous night ride, told here gently, with mist, moonlight, a faithful old horse, and a pumpkin, ending with the valley settling back into its quiet sleep.
