The Case of the Missing Moonbeams
On a soft summer night, young Bramble the hedgehog waddles down to the pond and finds the moonbeams missing from the water. Something must be done -- so Bramble becomes a detective. With a silver feather and a hush on the breeze as his only clues, he climbs the great oak to ask Hush, the slow and kindly old owl, and enlists Pip and Flicker, two sleepy fireflies, to search the sky. Their gentle investigation ends with the sweetest answer of all: a little cloud has drifted over the moon like a cozy blanket. So the friends settle in to wait together, breathing slow and deep, until the cloud drifts on and the moonbeams come rippling home. Zero stakes, zero peril -- just warm, low-energy coziness with soothing repetition, calm imagery, and a mystery that melts into sleep.
